Technology Addictions and Digital Diseases: Theories and Practices
Objective of The Book
This book aims to examine the impact of the digital world on human psychology, behavioral patterns, and neurobiological processes. Technology addiction is not merely an issue of screen time; it involves fundamental alterations in attention, motivation, reward mechanisms, and interpersonal bonding. Likewise, digital disorders can be defined as a new category of conditions triggered—either directly or indirectly—by excessive technology use: digital eye strain, screen-induced obesity, cyber-related syndromes, digital narcissism, social media-induced anxiety, and many others.
This book seeks to foster awareness, both at an academic level and among the general public, about the often overlooked aspects of life in the digital era.
